Is there such a thing as the perfect swing? This seems to be the Excalibur of the golfing world and you can spend a fortune trying to attain it.
A golf instructor will train you in how to create the perfect swing, using physical conditioning, visualization, classroom sessions, driving range instruction, playing on the course and viewing DVDs by professionals. You can have hypnotherapy to get you in ‘the zone’ – to help make you calm and focused and enjoying golf again when you may have made it hard work by stressing out about the perfect swing.
Your perfect swing will start with the correct set-up.
This is followed by the rhythm and balance of your body; the rotation of your upper body in relation to the stance of your lower body; your body alignment, and then you need to find your proper swing plane keep control of your swing speed. You balance will be created by standing with your weight evenly distributed between both feet. Be careful not to over swing as this will ruin your balance and ultimately you will overcompensate and the shot will not be as effective.
There are books and DVDs with tips on how to achieve the perfect swing in your golf. If you are more of a visual person, an illustration card would be more beneficial or perhaps the tutorial of a professional golfer from a DVD will be more practical.
If these do not appeal to you, then there is always the option of being tutored by a golf school or at a golf seminar. Smaller classes can give you one-to-one training and have the benefit of giving you some competition in the form of your fellow golf enthusiasts!
Apparently over-gripping can affect your perfect swing, as well as starting your downswing from your shoulders and working your way down, rather than starting from your feet and working upwards. Your shoulders should be the last to move in the downswing.
